Resuscitate Your Resume

After a lot of hard work, your resume is finally done. It looks good, and you feel you are ready to send your document to a prospective employer.

But wait a minute! Give yourself a break, have a cup of your favorite beverage, then take a fresh look at your handiwork. As your eyes glide over your paragraphs and lists, can you imagine your reader becoming energized by reading it, eager to read it to the end? Or rather, perhaps the individual is wondering what
you were thinking…? The reader of your resume may have a pile of documents to screen and may be, well, just tired and bored after reading many hundreds of lifeless resumes by the end of a long day.

Your resume will surely receive little attention if it's uninspiring to read. Remember that
15 seconds is all you have to communicate your value to the employer..

So what can you do about that?

Strategize how you write your resume to make it dynamic and interesting to read! Use accomplishment-rich stories to energize your tired reader and help him or her feel lucky to have discovered your resume.

* Describe
how well you performed your duties and responsibilities.
* Showcase your accomplishments in your work.
* Demonstrate that you have the skills, abilities, and experience required for the position.

Your stories of success will transform your resume from a boring restatement of fact into a living, breathing record of achievement that compels the reader to drop everything and call you.
